Biography: Justine deGruyter is a New Mexico native and received her B. S. in Chemistry from New Mexico State University, where she graduated with highest honors in 2014. Shortly thereafter, Justine was awarded an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship to support her studies at The Scripps Research Institute under the guidance of Professor Phil S. Baran. There, she has helped to initiate the first research program within the laboratory to explore complex biomolecules as targets for total synthesis.
Kyle Knouse
Baran Laboratory, The Scripps Research Institute
Biography: Kyle Knouse was born in Pennsylvania and received his B.S in Chemistry from Temple University in Philadelphia (2011). He then began his graduate studies at the Scripps Research Institute under the guidance of Professor Phil S. Baran. There, he has helped develop new chemistry for the functionalization of biomolecules.
