University of Idaho

Biography: Dale Guenther is a graduate student at the University of Idaho working under the supervision of Dr. Patrick Hrdlicka. Her graduate research centers on the development of energetically activated duplexes, termed Invader probes, for mixed-sequence recognition of dsDNA. These probes bind specifically to chromosomal targets in non-denaturing fluorescence in situ hybridization (nd-FISH) assays, and have exciting implications as a tool for gene detection, interrogation and manipulation. She received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the same institution, where her research was focused on the development and characterization of nucleobase-functionalized LNA for antisense-based applications.
