Title: New Approaches for Functional Oligonucleotides: RNA Activation and Non-Nucleosidic Aptamers

Description:

This talk will highlight two complementary approaches aimed at expanding the functional scope of oligonucleotide therapeutics. First, I will present our work using small activating RNAs (saRNAs) to upregulate CEBPA expression in acute myeloid leukemia, demonstrating enhanced efficacy in combination with FLT3 inhibition. Second, I will introduce a modular platform for generating chemically diverse aptamer-like oligomers (“alenomers”) using DNA-encoded libraries, enabling high-throughput identification of protein-binding sequences beyond enzyme-compatible chemistries. Together, these projects explore new strategies to modulate gene expression and molecular recognition using synthetic oligonucleotides.
