Biography
Emilio is a PhD candidate in Prof. Ype Elgersma’s group at the Clinical Genetics department of the Erasmus Medical Center. He has a BSc in Life Science & Technology from the Leiden University and Delft University of Technology, as well as a MSc in Neuroscience from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. As a member of the Tailored Consortium and the Dutch Center for RNA Therapeutics, Emilio focuses on developing antisense oligonucleotide therapies for rare neurodevelopmental disorders. His research within the antisense field aims to advance the understanding and design of allele-selective gapmers, and to improve in silico methods for gapmer target sequence selection.
